Last start winner QIJI EXPRESS and Stablemate POWER O’HATA were the pick of the mornings work at Cambridge this morning.

Galloping on the plough, QIJI EXPRESS edged ahead of POWER O’HATA at the completion of 1200 in 1:17.2, sprinting the final 600 in 36.8.

QUEEN OF DIAMONDS, CLEMENTINA and RUBIRA, three Baker/Forsman runners in this weekend’s Al Basti Equiworld Dubai NZ Oaks at Trentham, all looked well when covering 1600 in 1:50, coming home in 37.8.

Race rival ELATE appeared over her minor problem last start when travelling sweetly throughout 1200 in 1:20.5, the 600 in 38.3. HIGHLAD, NORDIC and PINEAPPLE LUMP worked in from the 1200 in 1:20.4, and 38.2.

STARRYBEEL, who is due to race at Flemington this weekend, was given a comfortable time over 1400 in 1:42, completing the final 600 in 40.1.

NEWMARKET left 1600 behind in 1:53.1 and 41. POWER TYCOON left the 1400 at 3/4 pace, quickening over the last 600 in 38.3.

MR INCREDIBULL completed 1200 in 1:23.3 and 40. PACORUS ran 800 in 55.4. ROC DE BANK followed in 58.

TRUE ENOUGH and CAMINO ROCOSO cut out 1200 in 1:17.9, the 600 in 37.5.

TRIPLE DIAMOND and INDAH worked well together over 1000 in 1:07.2 and 38.6. ZACADA travelled boldly throughout 1600 in 1:43, finishing off in 39.8.

AMBITIOUS WINNER, HOLY MONGOLEMPEROR and KANDARI timed the last 600 of their work in 38.3.

CONCERT HALL was travelling well at the end of 1400 in 1:32.8, the 600 in 38.3.

VON TUNZELMAN was in good form from the 1400 in 1:33.8, sprinting the 600 in 37.4. LADY LIRA and NOT USUAL JUNE ran 1000 in 1:07, the 600 in 38.1.

RED SENNA strode 1000 in 1:10.7 and 41. HANGER maintained a solid clip from the 1000 in 1:04, the concluding 600 in 37.1.

IN FASHION was another from the James/Wellwood stable to work well over 1000 in 1:06.5 and 38.7. THE CHOSEN ONE and SAHAR returned 1:21.4 for 1200 the 600 in 37.2.

DEELS DONE was clocked from the 600 in 41.7. LADY BLUE, MAMBA and ROBUSTO were sent 1200 in 1:23.9, home in 38.

RHINESTONE COWBOY, who is about to embark on an Australian Campaign, looked in great order when covering 1400 in 1:38.3, the 600 in 38.2.

JIMMY ROCKET was clocked from the 1200 in 1:24. CORNISH POINT was timed from the 600 in 39.7.

SPRING DELIGHT and LUCETTA returned 1:33 for 1400, sprinting the last 600 in 37.2. GEHRIG cut out 1000 in 1:07.1 and 38.2.

RED BEACH and VISCONTI matched strides from the 1200 in 1:20.9, home in 37.9. LINCOLN KING was let off with a 3/4 pace 1200.

RED SKY AT NIGHT cruised 1000 in 1:11, the 600 in 40. PITCH AND SWITCH was timed over 600 in 43.

IMPERIOUS ran 600 in 42.2. IT’S DOABLE followed in 42.8.

Sistema Stakes candidates ARETHA and ENJOY THE SHOW produced impressive final work at Cambridge this morning.

Galloping on the plough, the stablemates for the Two year old feature at Ellerslie completed their final 600 in 36.7. Both appear strong chances, with ARETHA being slightly the better prospect.

RONDINELLA, who was responsible for Tuesday’s track work highlight, was given a comfortable 1400, quickening over the final 600 in 42. She looks in first class order for Saturday’s Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes.

Race rivals SAINT EMILION and VIN DE DANCE enhanced their chances with nice work from the 1200, with stablemate LORD ARTHUR, run in 1:21.07, sprinting the 600 in 37.5.

WESTERN GIRL and IGNORED were also in good form when coming in from the 600 in 38.4. Any rain will enhance WESTERN GIRL’S prospects.

TIGHTLIGN completed a comfortable 1000 in 1:09.3 and 41.7. Stablemate and Ellerslie race rival SAVAPAK followed with similar work.

GUNDOWN was sent 1600 in 1:52, completing the final section in 39.2.

POWER O’HATA, who has been working well over recent weeks, was kept under a strong hold from the 600 in 45.4. She is an unlikely starter this weekend after drawing a wide barrier.

MAGNUM ran 600 in 42.1. JIMMY ROCKET was sent 1600 in 1:52.8 and 42.6.

IN FASHION strode 1000 in 1:10.9, the 600 in 40.7. NICOLETTA and HINERANGI matched strides from the 1200 in 1:20.2 and home in 38.

PITCH AND SWITCH ran 600 in 42.9. IMPERIOUS left 600 behind in 43. IT’S DOABLE followed in 43.3.

SPRING DELIGHT, CLEMENTINA and RUBIRA were clocked over 1200 in 1:23.3, finishing off in 37.5.

CONCERT HALL galloped well from the 1200 in 1:22.1 and 37.6. ZACADA maintained a solid clip from the 1400 in 1:30.2, coming home in 36.9. He is about to embark on an Australian Campaign.

PODRAVINA was clocked from the 600 in 38.3. PRETTY TO SEA came in from the 600 in 43.4. LADYNADEL did well over 1000 in 1:06, with the 600 in 37.5.

RONDINELLA was in excellent form on the plough at Cambridge this morning.

RONDINELLA was full of running at the completion of 1600m, clocked in 1:50.3, sprinting the last 600m in 37.4. She was unlucky when second at Matamata last start and looks in magnificent order.

INTO THE GROOVE and POWER O’HATA looked fit for upcoming engagements when maintaining a strong pace from the 1000m in 1:4.4, the final 600m in 36.6.

SAINT EMILION finished clear of VIN DE DANCE and LORD ARTHUR at the end of 1600m, run in 1:47.3, dashing the 600m in 36.8. RED BEACH did well over 1200m, timed the last 600m
In 37.2.

THE MIDNIGHT SHIFT was sent an easy 1000m, the 600m in 44.9. MEXICAN TYCOON and NOT USUAL JUNE cut out 1200m in 1:19.7 and 37.9.

STARRYBEEL, who heads over the Tasman shortly, was let off with a three-quarter workout over 1000m.

NOT USUAL HEAVEN ran 1000m in 1:8 and 38.5. ESPRESSO MARTINI and LADYNADEL were on terms from the 800m in 52.3.

CRAFTY JESS ran in from the 600m in 39.7. ELEANOR RIGBY and IGNORED were another pair to work nicely over 1000m in 1:6.2, home in 37.

BELLA PRONTO ran the last 600m of an easy 1000m in 47.5. THE CHARM SPIRIT|BETTER FOR WORSE Colt and THE CHARM SPIRIT|POSITIVE DREAMS Colt from the Stephen Marsh stable worked over 600m in 40.1.

The SHOWCASING|LULLABY Filly was clocked from the 600m in 43.2. VAN DIAMOND left the 600m behind in 41.5.

SOCIALITES was kept under a firm hold over 800m, the last 600m in 46.

MY DAKOTA ran 600m in 42. DAM RELIABLE returned 37.4 from the 600m. SEVENTH UP was timed from the 600m in 37.3.

NICOLETTA and TOMELILLA ran 1400m in 1:37.3, coming home in 37.5.

RED SENNA strode 1000m at three-quarter pace. GLINDA GOODWITCH ran the last 600m of easy work in 45.3.

CUTADEEL was again the pick of the Baker/Forsman Vodafone NZ Derby trio at Cambridge this morning.

Working on the plough CUTADEEL was in top order when shading race rivals BOBBY DEE and THE CHOSEN ONE at the finish of 1400m, the last 1200m in 1:23, sprinting the final 600m in 38.4. All three travelled well throughout.

CUTADEEL has been disadvantaged, drawing one from the outside in the Group 1 and will have to rely on luck during the running.

BOBBY DEE, who should have no problem coping with the 2400m, has also received an outside ally and THE CHOSEN ONE should get a nice trip from his handy draw.

VERNANME, from the Stephen Marsh barn, another local Vodafone NZ Derby runner with excellent prospects, was given an easy workout over 1200m at three quarter pace, coming in from the 600m in 45.9.

CROWN PROSECUTOR, the other Stephen Marsh trained Vodafone NZ Derby contender, looked well when completing a comfortable 1200m, the last 1000m run in 1:9.2 and the final 600m in 40.3.

GUNDOWN and ARTISTE, who clash in the Headquarters Viaduct Nathans Memorial over 2200m at Ellerslie this weekend, worked well from the 1400m, running the last 1000m in 1:5.1 and the 600m in 37.8.

GUNDOWN appeared to have the edge over his stablemate. ROCANTO hit the line full of running when timed from the 600m in 38.3.

QIJI EXPRESS and SAHAR enhanced their Ellerslie prospects when returning excellent work from the 1000m in 1.5.3 and 37.4.

FAWN travelled sweetly from the 1200m in 1:25.4, the last 600m in 42. LUCKY DREAMER was timed from the 600m in 39.

RUBERA and CLEMENTINA matched strides over 1200m in 1:20.4 home in 38.3. CAMINO ROCOSO and NOT USUAL JUNE came to the end of 1000m in 1:5, sprinting the last 600m in 37.6.

SANTA CATARINA was let off with 600m in 45.3. LUCKY LADY ran 800m in 59.3.

ELEANOR RIGBY returned 39.2 from the 600m. LORD ARTHUR ran 1000m in 1:8.3 and 39.3. HE’S UNFORGETTABLE worked 1400m in 1:40, the 600m in 39.8.

RHINESTONE COWBOY and VIN DE DANCE returned 1:9.4 and 40.4. CLADDAGH did well from the 1400m in 1:34.5, the 1200m in 1:18 and the final 600m in 38.7.

Several local Vodafone New Zealand Derby hopefuls stretched their legs on the plough at Cambridge this morning.

The Baker/Forsman trio, CUTADEEL, BOBBY DEE and THE CHOSEN ONE kept up a good clip from the 1400, completing the final 1200 in 1:17.1, sprinting the last 600 in 36.4.

CUTADEEL, who disappointed at his most recent one, had a slight advantage at the finish. He looks in excellent order and back to his best for Saturday’s Group One feature, the Vodafone New Zealand Derby at Ellerslie.

VERNANME, one of two Vodafone New Zealand Derby contenders from the Marsh stable, worked nicely over 1400 in 1:34, coming home in 37.7. He ran home solidly last start, indicating the 2400 this weekend should hold no fears.

Vodafone New Zealand Derby favourite, SURELY SACRED, was also in good form when well held over 1400 in 1:36.1, the concluding 600 in 38.1.

CROWN PROSECUTOR, the second of the Marsh Vodafone New Zealand Derby prospects, came to the end of 1400 in 1:39.1, the final 600 in 39.4.

QIJI EXPRESS and MEXICAN TYCOON were responsible for the fastest gallop of the morning when cutting out 1000 in 1:03.3, dashing the final 600 in 35.7.

BINGWA returned excellent work over 1600 in 1:43.1, the last 600 in 38.5.

SAINT EMILION and HIGHLAD were on terms throughout 1200 in 1:18.7, the 1000 in 1:07.3, with the last 600 in 38.4. GUNDOWN finished ahead of ARTISTE after being timed from the 1000 in 1:06.4 and 38.3.

CORNISH POINT was given a comfortable 1400 in 1:40.4, home in 40.8. DREAM ON and FIORENTE|PRAYERS ‘N’ PROMISES did well together over 1000 in 1:03.4 and 37.2.

HOLY MONGOLEMPEROR and ENJOY THE SHOW worked in from the 600 in 38.

KRAKADEEL was in good form when working in from the 1000 in 1:06.1 and 38.3. FAWN came to the end of 1200 in 1:18, the last 600 in 38.4.

POWER O’HATA and NOT USUAL CURRENT matched strides from the 600 in 39.1. DAM RELIABLE, who has been working well over recent weeks ran 1000 in 1:07 and 37.2.

OCTANE JANE followed in 1:07.9 and 38.4. FIGEAMEOUT returned 1:09 for 1000, the 600 in 39.8. CHECKERS and CUSTOM CRUISER ran 600 in 39.5.

RELIABLE BELLE followed in 44.3. TIGHTLINE worked well from the 1000 in 1:07, home in 39.1. WESTERN GIRL and SAVASTEP were clocked from the 600 in 38.8.

RUBERA and CLEMENTINA came to the end of 1200 in 1:22 and 38.3. LINCOLN KING ran 600 in 40.5.

THOMAS AQUINAS and TRIP TO FREEDOM maintained a good pace from the 1200 in 1:16.8 and 38.6. CARIBBEAN ROSE and LOVE ME TENDER returned 1:09 and 40.

ROBUSTO completed 600 in 38. DEELS DONE cut out 600 in 40. NEWMARKET ran 1000 in 1:10, the last 600 in 40.2.

MISS RIPPY followed in 1:09.5 and 40. TANTALISING came to the end of 1200 in 1:21.9 and 39.7.

BEACHED AS BRO and CHARM SPIRIT|POSITIVE DREAMS came in from the 600 in 41.2. PODRAVINA and NORDIC returned 1:08 and 39.

HASSTOBEGOOD rounded up her preparation for Saturday’s J Swap Contractors Ltd Matamata Breeders Stake with a relaxed but impressive workout on the plough at Cambridge this morning.

HASSTOBEGOOD followed impressive Tuesday work with a nice gallop from the 600 clocked in 41.2. She comes into the filly’s feature with three minor placings to date and looks a good each way value.

VIN DE DANCE, a leading contender for Saturday’s Marks Ewen & Associates Kaimai Stakes at Matamata worked well alongside RHINESTONE COWBOY from the 1400 in 1:38, the last 600 in 38.6.

ZACADA maintained a good pace from the 1000 in 1:04.4. CAMINO ROCOSO and HIGHLAD travelled strongly throughout 1200 in 1:15.2, coming home in 37.

JA JA BINKS was timed over 600 in 40.1. FIGEAMEOUT and FIORENTE|PRAYERS ‘N’ PROMISES strode comfortably from the 1000 in 1:13 and home in 42.

SAINT EMILION was in good form from the 1200 in 1:22.4, sprinting the 600 in 37.1. VIGOR WINNER dashed 600 in 37.

MERLINI was timed over 600 in 39. CLADDAGH completed 1000 in 1:11.9 and 41.6. AKOYA PEARL came to the end of 1000 in 1:07.7 and 38.5.

DREAM ON ran 1:10.9 and 41.2. TRUE ENOUGH came in from the 600 in 39.8. QUEEN OF DIAMONDS returned 1:09 for the 1000 and the 600 in 38.2.

DAM RELIABLE did well over 1000 in 1:07 and 37.9. VON TUNZELMAN worked up nicely over 1400 in 1:37.1, finishing off in 37.1.

HE’S UNFORGETTABLE left 1200 behind in 1:27 and 41. CONCERT HALL completed 800 in 58. ARETHA and NOT USUAL JUNE were together at the completion of 1000 in 1:09.4 and 40.4.

OCTANE JANE was given an easy task over 1000, running the 600 in 46. JIMMY ROCKET was timed from the 600 in 40.

FOOGAYZEE, a two year old from the James/Wellwood stable, impressed alongside COFFEE BAY when running the fastest 600 of the morning in 36.3.

RONDINELLA, preparing for Saturday’s Kaimai Stakes at Matamata, was in outstanding form on the plough this morning.

Timed from the 1200m, RONDINELLA returned 1:17.8, sprinting the last 600m in 36.2. She was under a firm hold throughout her work. She is now at peak fitness and will be extremely tough to beat.

Stable mate HASSTOBEGOOD was no less impressive when finishing clear of CONCERT HALL from the 1000m, run in 1:3.1. However, CONCERT HALL started at the 1400m, picking up her stablemate at the 1000m. She ran the 1400m in 1:34.6.

VIN DE DANCE and RHINESTONE COWBOY were also in good form when finishing together after 1400m run in 1:32.5, dashing the final 600m in 36.7.

HANGER did well over 1000m in 1:5.6, sprinting home in 36.3. ZACADA, who is due to commence fresh up at Matamata this weekend, was keen from the 1400m, timed in 1:29, home in 37.2.

HOLY MONGOLEMPEROR and ARETHA, who both look above average, were timed from the 600m in 38.1.

FAWN left 1200m behind in 1:22.7 and 39.3. KONSTANTINA and CAMINO ROCOSO completed 1200m in 1:22.8, finishing off in 38.4.

ARTISTE, PODRAVINA and AMBITIOUS WINNER left 1200m behind in 1:23.5 and 38.9. LADYNADEL and ESPRESSO MARTINI ran the last 600m of work in 37.4.

NOT USUAL HEAVEN caught the eye with nice work over 1000m in 1:5 and 37.2. VISCONTI, LADY BLUE and NOT USUAL JUNE ran 1000m in 1:5.4, the 600m in 38. SCOTCH returned 1:8.6, the concluding 600m in 37.4.

MASU was clocked over 1200m in 1:26.1 and 43. LOVE AFFAIR came in from the 600m in 39.8.

DEELS DONE completed 1400m in 1:42.2 and 42.3. VON TUNZELMAN, who has been working well for some time, ran 1200m in 1:29, the last 600m in 40.1.

JIMMY ROCKET ran the final 600m of 1400m in 37.6. MEDITERRANEAN STAR strode 800m in 56.7.

CLEMENTINA and VEE CECE came in from the 600m in 39.3. KING’S CROSS ran an easy 600m in 43.7.

GLINDA GOODWITCH and a RELIABLE MAN Filly from the Marsh stable, were sent 1000m in 1:9.5 and 40.7. BLUE LAGOON ran 1400m in 1:41, the 600m in 39.4.

MR TRUMP returned comfortable work over 1000m in 1:13.5 and 43. SWORD IN STONE reeled off 800m in a smart 50.4.

TRUMPET ran 1000m in 1:9.4 and 40.5. BABY FACE returned 39.2 for 600m and MASTER PARK ran the last 600m of 800m in 40.9.

The reason no Pike horses are in the track report is because they don’t give the names at the gap.

Schweppes Avondale Guineas favourite CUTADEEL and stablemate as well as weekend race rival THE CHOSEN ONE, completed their final preparations this morning for the traditional lead up race heading towards the NZ Derby.

Working on a back plough which produced some fast times, they matched strides over 1200 metres in 1.23, completing an impressive last 600 in 37.9. CUTADEEL looks to make it 4 wins on end, whereas THE CHOSEN ONE is second up over ground, and looks over the odds.

MONGOLIAN MARSHAL, BOBBY DEE and GUNDOWN also produced an eye catching final gallop. Timed over 1200, they went 1.19, before quickening nicely to round off their last 600 in 37.6.

GUNDOWN looks well placed in the Coca-Cola Avondale Cup with 52kgs on his back. Any easing of the firm ground would be a huge favour to him.

HANGER produced one of the more impressive gallops in recent memory, when sizzling over 1000 in a tick over 1.03, home in an impressive 35.1. He potentially heads to Otaki next weekend and would certainly be one to follow.

SPRING DELIGHT looked to be doing things well in blinkers when working alongside last start winner KONSTANTINA. They went 1200 in 1.20, home in 38.

RUBIRA, who heads to Ellerslie after a tidy fresh up fifth at Te Rapa, went 1200 in 1.21, home in 38.3.

Also entered for the same race, and race rival for the second weekend straight, the Stephen Marsh trained TIGHTLIGN, completed 1000 in three quarter work, going 1.14, 44.2. He was unlucky at Te Rapa and should be spot on with the quick back up.

QUEEN OF DIAMONDS did things well like usual, cutting out 800 in 54, finishing off in a comfortable 39.1.

VISCONTI and NORDIC went 1000 in 1.08, rounding off in 38.9. PODRAVINA strode out a comfortable 800 in 54.

Class filly SANTA CATARINA looked bright when going 1000 in 1.11 and 41.7. SHE DARES went over a mile in 1.51, before working in nicely for her final 3 furlongs in 38.4.

RAPOSA RAPIDA went 800 in an easy 59 and 44. McEDITH did similar, going 58 and 44.

ROCANTO, who drops back in grade and who has worked very well since being gelded, came in from the 600 in 39.7. Look for him to be competitive.

FIREFLY topped off his preparation for Ellerslie going 1000 in 1.13, home in 42. VEE CECE and CLEMENTINA went 1000 in 1.08, 38.2.

POPPY STAR and PLAYWRITE were timed over 1200 in 1.22, rounding off in a quiet 44. HETTY went 58 in his 800 metre work.

On the sand JIMMY ROCKET went 2 rounds before being timed over his concluding 600 in 41. SAVAPAK followed soon after going 800 in 58.6. He contests the strong r72 Stella Artois 1600 at Ellerslie.

SURELY SACRED heads to the Schweppes Avondale Guineas along with stablemate RIPPA EAGLE. They went a quiet 600 in 44.5.

EVER LOYAL, who went a big last start second fresh up in the Concorde handicap, topped off his preparation for the Dunstan Feeds 1200 going 600 in 42.

ARETHA and ELLE EYE ARE were in good form together over 1000 in 1:06.7 and 38.2. FELAAR came to the end of 1400 in 1:35.6 and 39.5.

ROCANTO caught the eye with nice work over 1000 in 1:05, finishing off in 37.3. Last start winner NEWMARKET strode 1000 in 1:09.1 and 41.2.

EL FERNANDO and EL LUCHADOR ran the last 600 of 1200 in 39. KING’S CROSS was timed from the 600 in 39.4.
