Track Work 16 July 2020

WOODEN EDGE handled the very heavy conditions better than most of the handful of horses to gallop on the No. 2 grass today.

Working 9m out, WOODEN EDGE was travelling strongly at the completion of 1000m run in 1:9.1, with the final 600m in 39.9.  He ran a nice race fresh up at Te Rapa and has derived benefit from the outing.  He has three previous victories on the course and with in-form 4kg claiming apprentice Callum Jones on board, he should be hard to beat.

CRAFTY JESS did her Te Rapa chances no harm when getting through the ground nicely over 1000m in 1:9.4, finishing off in 40.2.  She has also performed well at Te Rapa in the past and should be most competitive.

Last start winner HARBOURSIDE left the 800m behind in 53, with the final 600m in 41.4.  He faces a rise in class at Te Rapa but looks well.

RAPID FALLS was clocked from the 600m in 43.2.   BOUNDTOBEHONORED came to the end of 1000m in 1.10, finishing off in 42.5. NOMOATHAJ was sent 1200m in 1:26.4, the concluding 600m in 41.9.

PACORUS came in from the 1000m in 1:8.4 and 40.  FERENDI was travelling well at the finish of 1000m run in 1:8.5 and 40.1.  He won his last start at Te Rapa and the wide draw should be to his advantage now.

DARCI DIVA, who makes her debut at Te Rapa, worked in from the 600m in 43.9.  She has performed with merit in both her trials but has a wide draw over a short trip.

On the sand LADYLAX was timed the last 600m of her gallop in 41.1.  ROBUSTO came in from the 600m in 42.1.  KAIPAKI ROAD, who has been working well over recent weeks, returned 1.11 and 42.1 for 1000m.

SCOTCH returned 42 from the 600m, TABATA ran 600m in 44.2.  Others timed over 600m:

LADY LIRA 41.2 |  SPRING DELIGHT 42 | PEARLESCENCE 41.9 |  DUNTAYAR followed a nice Tuesday work up with an easy 600m in 42.1.  He should go well in the Dylan Johnson Bloodstock Two Year Old 1100m at Te Rapa.
