Alicudi looked set to clear maiden ranks at Ruakaka this weekend

Alicudi looked set to clear maiden ranks at Ruakaka this weekend after working well at Cambridge today.

Galloping on the outside of a heavy No.3 Grass, Alicudi (McNab) was travelling strongly at the end of 600m in 38.4. He will have the services of Opie Bosson.

Nancylee (Sarah), another with strong claims for Ruakaka, left 1000m behind in 1:11, the concluding 600m in 39.   Whoopsi (Ormsby) was given a comfortable 600m in 48, Veyron (Norvall), who is coming to hand well for a fresh campaign worked freely over 800m in 54.

Galloping on the sand, Ambitious Hero (Legg) did his Whangarei chances no harm with a nice work-out alongside Snave (Orting) from the 1000m in 1:7 finishing off in 40.2.   And Fire Power (Waters) came to the end of 600m in 40.4.
