Another Aussie feature possible for Silent Achiever

Cambridge trainer Roger James hasn’t ruled going back to Australia this campaign with stable star Silent Achiever.

Silent Achiever returned from Sydney early this week and is enjoying a brief freshen-up before rejoining James’ stable on Monday.

“If I’m happy with her next week we may contemplate the Doomben Cup,” said James.

The Gr. 1 A$650,000 Bundaberg Distillery Company Doomben Cup is a weight-for-age 2000 metres at Doomben on May 9.

Silent Achiever didn’t race up to expectations in last Saturday’s Gr. 1 BMW, won impressively by Hartnell, and has cast a shadow over plans to take her to Europe for a tilt at the Gr. 1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

She appeared to have her chance in the hands of Kerrin McEvoy and wound up sixth, just under two and a half lengths from Hartnell, who was chased home by the Japanese visitor To The World.
