SUFFUSED sounded a warning to his El Roca – Sir Colin Meads Trophy rivals with excellent work this morning.

Galloping on a slow No. 4 grass SUFFUSED edged out stable mate BONITA AURELIA at the finish of 1000m in 1:7.1, sprinting the final 600m in 38.  Both are in good order.

SUFFUSED did it all wrong at his most recent start, but was an impressive winner on debut.

BONITA AURELIA will join her stable mate on the trip to Hastings and will race in the Group 3 Hawke’s Bay Breeders Gold Trail Stakes.

BABYLON BERLIN, who will run favourite in the Hawke’s Bay Breeders Gold Trail Stakes after a convincing debut win, was not after time when sent 800m, the last 600m in 42.1.  She looks a classy filly and a victory would not surprise.

SWEET ANNA, another local entered in the strong Hawke’s Bay Breeders Gold Trail Stakes field, returned 40.1 from the 600m.  She should also be amongst it at the business end.

Galloping on a slow No. 2 grass with the markers out wide, CYBER ATTACK was in good form over 1000m in 1:6.4, sprinting home in 37.1.  He has run three good races this campaign and looks at peak fitness for Hastings.

VIKING and MAKZABEEL, who are race rivals at Hastings, hit the finish together at the end of a solid 1000m, run in 1:4.3, the last 600m in 37.8.

TUPPENCE strode 1000m in 1:10.1 and 40.4.  MASTER KHAN was timed 600m in 37.2.

EMBER ATTACK and UNDER THE PUMP returned the fastest 1000m of the morning in 1:3.1, dashing home in 36.3.  JACK THE LASS did his Ruakaka chances no harm with nice work over 1000m in 1:5.3 and 37.1.

On the sand, RED BEACH AND SHOWBEEL were in good form over 1000m in 1:8.2, home in 39.1.

SHENANIGANS worked in from the 600m in 42.  TELEKINETIC, OUR MODENA and SPECIAL INTEREST ran 600m in 40.

RHAEGAR left 800m behind in 54, the final 600m in 39.1.

MADAM HASS ran the last 600m of 800m in 37.6.  PLUCKY MISS AND DIIONYSUS cut out 800m in 54.

LOIRE and HARBOURSIDE attracted attention with a strong gallop during a busy session on the plough.

LOIRE had the better of HARBOURSIDE at the completion of 1200m in 1.22, dashing the last 600m in 36.1.  LOIRE, who is due to run in Saturday’s G1 Tarzino Trophy at Hastings, has had the benefit of two trials, winning her most recent earlier in the month and looks ready to produce a bold fresh up race in the strong 1400m field.

LADYLAX shaded CRAFTY JESS at the end of 1200m in 1:17.8, sprinting the concluding 600m in 37.2.  Both should perform with merit this weekend.

LUBAYA and RED BEACH worked well together over 1200m, clocked in 1:18.1, the last 600m in 37.1.

LADY LIRA came in from the 1000m in 1:6.3, sprinting home in 37.4.  She gives her best every start and should race well again this Thursday at Te Rapa.

CYBER ATTACK did well over 1000m in 1:6.1, the last 600m in 36.8.  BRAHMA SUNSET was sent 1000m in 1:9.3 and 38.8.

MAKZABEEL came to the end of 1000m in 1:10.7, finishing off in 39.1.  VIKING and BEAUTY STAR maintained a strong clip from 1000m in 1.7, sprinting the last 600m in 36.6.

BOUNDTOBEHONORED left 1000m behind in 1.9, home in 40.1.  GALLARDO was clocked the final 600m of 1200m in 38.

SHERRIF looked in excellent order when timed 1400m in 1:35.2, the 600m in 37.8.  AMAL ROSE and OCEAN SPIRIT were paired over a solid 1000m in 1:3.8 and 36.2.

MALIK and LORD SIBFORD ran 1200m in 1:17.6, the last 600m in 37.  FRANCESCA and SPIRIT OF BAZ were in good form from the 1000m in 1:4.1, finishing off in 38.

SAVASTEP ran 1200m in 1:19.3 and 37.9.  OSAKA was another to work nicely when timed 1000m in 1:5.3, the 600m in 37.8.

CAMPARI worked in from the 600m in 40. SUFFUSED, SWEET ANNA and BONITA AURELIA finished close together at the completion of a solid 1000m in 1:3.3, home in 36.5.

PINEAPPLE LUMP and SPECIAL INTEREST ran 1000m in 1:4.6 and 37.4.  SHE’S A LADY and LENNON came in from the 1000m in 1:5.3, home in 37.2.

SPRING DELIGHT was timed 600m in 39.3.

LUBAYA and TWO ILLICIT completed their Ellerslie preparation with nice work in separate gallops.

Working on an excellent plough LUBAYA was sent 1200m, run in 1.19.2, sprinting the final 600m in 37.1.

She has been impressive in her morning work recently, but was inconvenienced by a very heavy track last start.  She has a wide draw to contend with this weekend but with luck in the running she could sneak into the money at good odds.

TWO ILLICIT followed excellent Tuesday work with a hard held 800m in 52.2.  She will be hard to beat fresh up.

CONCERT HALL – stable mate and race rival, looked in good order when completing 1200m in 1.25, the final 600 in 40.1.

RHAEGAR left 1200m behind in 1.23, finishing the concluding 600m in 38.  TIPICAL ran 1400m in 1.42, home in 39.9.

AMAL ROSE and MONLULA returned the fastest gallop of the morning with solid work over 1000m in 1:6.5, dashing home in 36.3.

MADAM HASS returned 1:6.8 and 38.9 for 1000m. SHERRIF left 1400m behind in 1.41, the last 800m in 54.7.

RITANI was let off with easy work over 600m in 44.3.  MARRONI and PRINCESS ORIGAMI matched strides from the 1200m in 1.24.2, home in 40.  HYPNOS ran 1000m in 1:9.1, the 600m in 41.

YATIMA was clocked 600m in 39.1.  CAMAROSA and GHIBELLINES|PERSONAL COLUMN ran the last 600m of 800m in 37.8.

SWORD OF FIRE maintained a good clip from 800m, run in 50.1 and 37.1.   A ZED gelding and POKER QUEEN from Sam Logan’s stable were timed the last 600m of 1200m in 38.4.

TWO ILLICIT, who begins her spring campaign this weekend, gave every indication she is fit enough to be competitive with nice work on a deep plough.

TWO ILLICIT left the 1200m behind in 1:23.1, sprinting the last 600m in 39.4.   She was under a good hold throughout and was one of few to be clocked under 40 for the final section.

LUBAYA had slightly the better of RED BEACH at the completion of 1200m in 1:20.4, the concluding 600m in 39.6.  LOVE STRUCK did well when running 1200m in 1:22.9, the 600m in 39.7.

LONDON BANKER started slowly at the 1200m, quickening at the 600m, run in 1.26 and 40.4.

SHERWOOD FOREST was timed the last 600m of work in 39.  HYPNOS came to the end of 1000m in 1:10.4, home in 40.5.  MONLULA and AMAL ROSE for a companion over 1000m in 1:8.6 and 40. Both looked well.

SUMMER WARRIOR was clocked from the 600m in 41.  RIPPDEEDOODAH worked over 1400m, the 1200m in 1:26.4, and the last 600m in 44.1.

YATIMA strode comfortably over 1200m in 1:25.1 and 42.1.  DEEP BEAUTY was sent 800m in 57.4, the 600m in 42.8.   RITANI ran 1000m in 1.11, home in 43.

SPLASH OF RED returned 1:12.1 and 41.7 for 1000m. ALL BLACK MAGIC was timed 600m in 44.

FIVE SCHILLINGS and RAINONUS were on terms throughout 800m, the last 600m in 41.1.

PRETTY TO SEA was given an easy task over 600m in 44.8.  LOCOMOTION ran the last 600m of 900m in 44.  WELL I NEVER returned  43.2 for 600m.  STYLISH SUGGESTION left 1000m behind in 1:11.3 and 41.5.

Working on the No.4 grass, ENDLESS DRAMA was timed 600m in 40.

TE TORO PEARL showed she is at peak fitness with impressive work this morning.

Galloping on a dead No.2 grass 12m out, TE TORO PEARL was travelling strongly at the finish of 1000m, run in a smart 1:3.1, sprinting the final 600m in 35.4.

She was the victim of an average ride at Matamata last start when taken very wide on the home turn and did well to finish just in behind the placegetters.  She will be at good odds again in a talented field at Te Rapa this weekend.

LAMBRUSCO did well when sent 1000m in 1:6.1, the last 600m in 36.3.

WILLY AWAY maintained a solid pace over 1000m in 1:5.3, dashing the final 600m in 36.1.

TELLALL and CAMINATA were clocked from the 600m in 40.  CAMPING came in from the 600m in 37.3.

Galloping on the No.4 grass, THE CHOSEN ONE, who heads to Melbourne on Wednesday, left the 1200m behind in 1.21, with the concluding 600m run in 39.  He has been returning excellent work recently and looks in for a profitable campaign in Victoria, due to commence on Saturday week.

ARETHA was not after time when well held over 1000m in 1:10.2 and 40.1.

TRAVELLING LIGHT was also in good form, timed her last 600m in 37.9.  She has had two recent trials and should go well fresh up in Saturday’s Valachi Downs Foxbridge Plate at Te Rapa.

On the sand, LADYLAX, who will be attempting a hat trick of victories at Te Rapa, did her chances no harm with nice work over 1000m in 39.

SUFFUSED and UNITION, likely rivals at Te Rapa, both travelled sweetly from the 1000m in 1:8.3 and 38.1.  STAR TSAR did well over 1000m in 1:5.2, home in 39.5.  He is another from the Baker/Forsman stable returning encouraging morning work. He will start his campaign in a handy field at Te Rapa and should be hard to beat.

VEE CECE came in from the 600m in 38.2.  SHE’S A LADY, QIJI MELODY and LADY LIRA came to the end of 1000m in 1:8.3, the 600m in 39.3.  CRAFTY JESS and LORD SIBFORD cut out 1000m in 1:6.2, home in 38.1.

RIPPER OF A DREAM and LENNON were timed from the 600m in 38.7.

SWEET ANNA and OUR MODENA were in good form over 1000m in 1:6.4, the final 600m in 38.4.

JOY ALONE and DIAMOND ran 600m in 39.  RED BEACH ran in easily from the 600m in 40.7.

PAPENHUYZEN ran a comfortable 600m in 42.5.

CHEVAL PROMETTEUR, who had a second placing at Te Rapa last start, handled the heavy conditions better than most when working on the outside of the No.2 grass.

CHEVAL PROMETTEUR could not have been much more impressive when maintaining a strong gallop throughout 1000m in 1:4.6, sprinting the last 600m in 37.4.  He is due to start at Tauranga this weekend and should perform well.

YORKSHIRE DALES and RAZ were in good form over 800m, completing the last 600m in 37.1.

INSCRIPTION came in nicely from the 1000m in 1:7.6, the concluding 600m in 39.3.  MARRONI and SHOWBEEL matched strides over 1000 in 1.8, finishing off in 38.7.  The pair hit the line together and look in great order.

JOY ALONE and DIAMOND were not after time when travelling sweetly over 1000m in 1:13.2, the final 600m in 41.  Both look above average.

PORTOFINO and DARCI QUE were sent 1000m, run in 1:8.2, the 600m in 38.4.

TELEKINETIC and SHE’S A LADY came to the end of 1000m in 1:11.2 and 41.

ALL BLACK BOURBON and OSO SAVVY got through the loose conditions well when timed 1000m in 1:8.3 and 39.8.  CLIQUE and FIVE SCHILLINGS left 1000m behind in 1:8.9, finishing off in 40.

FIGHTING FIRE ran 1000m in 1.12, home in 41.1.   MADALZA worked in nicely from the 600m in 39.7.

FASTNET ROCK|PROCUREMENT was timed an easy 800m in 57.4.  ERIDANI completed 1000m in 1.11 and 40.2. ACTING UP followed with similar work.

MOLTO VELOCE was clocked from the 600m in 41.1.  MEGA BOURBON and LIONIZE were kept under a firm hold throughout 1000m in 1:13.2 and 42.1.

DIVINE DIVE and ALWAYS SACRED cut out 1000m in 1:10.3, home in 39.4.

WOODEN EDGE worked by himself over 1200m, the last 1000m in 1:8.2 and the final 600m in 38.9.

SUMMER WARRIOR was sent 1600m, the final 1200m run in 1:26.7, the 600m in 40.

On the No.4 grass TWO ILLICIT, who looks in for a profitable campaign, was given an easy 1000m in 1:12.1, the last 600m in 41.1.  ENDLESS DRAMA ran 600m in 42.

Many locals entered for the weekends racing enhanced their chances with encouraging work this morning.

On the inside of a dead plough TE TORO PEARL returned the fastest 600m of the session when starting slowly from the 1000m, increasing speed from the 800m and dashing the final 600m in 34.8. She will be at good odds in the Colchester Engineering 1400 at Matamata and should be very competitive.

NOBLE STAR did his Matamata chances no harm with impressive work alongside ATA RANGI over a smart 800m, sprinting the 600m in 35.6.

INTRIGUE was in good form over 1000m in 1:3.6, sprinting the last 600m in 36.5.   She looks to have improved since her fresh up run.

NOMOATHAJ was another Matamata candidate to return good work, leaving 1000m behind in 1:5.7, quickening from the 600m run in 36.1.

LUBAYA, who ran on well over the final stages of her most recent start, came in nicely from the 1200m in 1:17.8, the final 600m in 36.4. PEARLESCENCE was not pushed for time over 1200m run in 1:23.2, the last 600m in 39.

ROBUSTO looked fit for Matamata when well held from the 1200m in 1.23, finishing off in 40.

PACORUS caught the eye with nice work over 1200m in 1:19.1 and 36.5.  Stablemate RUSAVY kept up a strong gallop from the 1000m in 1:4.2, the concluding 600m in 35.4.

LUCKY ESCAPE started fast at the 800m returning 48.4.  PAPENHUYZEN looked in excellent order for Te Aroha this Sunday, when working nicely with a ZACINTO from the Glen Harvey stable over 800m, the last 600m in 38.1.

CURIOUS GEORGE was clocked from the 600m in 38.  MIDNIGHT SHIFT and CHARD left 100om behind in 1:9.3 and 39.   HAPPINESS FOREVER and WHO DAT DARE were timed from the 600m in 38.5.

TELEKINETIC and FRANCESCA were on terms throughout 1000m, sprinting home in 36.7.  JOY ALONE, DIAMOND and SHOCKING|GLAM GIRL hit the line together at the end of 600m in 37.

On the No 4 grass ARETHA, who ran well at the recent Taupo trials, looked ready to produce a bold fresh up run at Matamata when working in nicely from the 600m in 41.1.

ENDLESS DRAMA was not asked for time over 600m in 42.6.  TRUE ENOUGH ran the last 600m of 800m in 42.1.

Galloping on the sand MALIK, who races at Matamata, looked fit when timed over 600m in 42. SHOWBEEL and SHE’S A LADY matched strides from the 600m in 40.7.

SHE’S APPLES ran in from the 600m in 42.3.  RIP EM UP returned 44.1 for the 600m.

Others timed from the 600m included RITANI 43.2 | YATIMA 42.9 | AMASECOYA 41.9 | RIBZZ and FOXSQUILLION 44 |  LORD SIBFORD 41.2 | RIPPER OF A DREAM and PINEAPPLE LUMP  39.9.
