Caorunn is unbeaten in the central districts with wins at Otaki and Awapuni, but a factor beyond the control of his connections may prevent him extending that record in the short term.

The Cambridge youngster, a last-start fourth in the Listed Karaka Million, will run in Saturday week’s Gr. 3 Phoenix Park 2YO Classic at New Plymouth if a suitable jockey can be found.

“We can’t get a rider for him at this stage,” said Trent Busuttin, who prepares the juvenile with partner Natalie Young.

The stable will have a two-year-old runner this weekend with Shenandoah to debut at Te Rapa.

“It’s only a small field, but there are a couple of good ones in it like O’Rachael, and it’s on our door step so the experience will do her good,” said Busuttin.
