Marsh’s eyes on Rosa tomorrow

Former Cambridge filly Rosa Carolina will make her Australian debut at Gosford tomorrow.

Prepared by Stephen Marsh, Rosa Carolina was runner-up to subsequent Group One winner Heroic Valour on debut at Trentham before finishing sixth in the Gr. 2 Swap Contractors Matamata Breeders’ Stakes.

She was then transferred from Marsh’s to the Newcastle stable of Kris Lees for her upcoming three-year-old campaign.

“She’s fresh up over 1100 metres and she’s coming up really nicely,” said owner Lib Petagna’s racing manager, Bruce Perry. “She could head to the Thousand Guineas in Melbourne if she comes up well enough.”

Rosa Carolina is a daughter of Savabeel and top South Island mare Ombre Rose.
