Kerrin McEvoy has picked up the choice mount on Turn Me Loose in next Saturday’s $A1 million Emirates Stakes at Flemington.

McEvoy will replace the suspended Opie Bosson, who has ridden the Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained stallion to consecutive wins in the Listed Seymour Cup and the Gr.2 Crystal Mile and was also aboard when he won the Gr. 1 Sothys NZ 2000 Guineas 12 months ago.

In other Cambridge-related news on the Flemington front, Damien Oliver has been confirmed as the new jockey for the New Zealand-bred and owned Lucia Valentina next Saturday.

Oliver will partner the dual Group One winner for the first time in the Gr. 2 Matriarch Stakes.

Lucia Valentina, who began her successful career from the Cambridge stable of Stephen Marsh, was unplaced last start in the Gr.1 BMW Caulfield Cup, although she was only five and a half lengths from the winner Mongolian Khan after starting from a wide gate.
