A change in plans for Queensland Oaks-winner Provocative has Damien Oliver in the box seat for the mare’s spring campaign.

Cambridge trainer Tony Pike has nominated Provocative for Saturday’s Listed Heatherlie Stakes (1700m) at Caulfield and Oliver has been booked to take the mount.

“She had that jumpout last week and she’s come through it really well,” said Pike. “If she works well in the morning and pulls up well, she’ll probably run in the Heatherlie.

“The timing seems to be a bit better going on towards the Naturalism [over 2000 metres at Caulfield on September 17].”

Nigelissima, formerly trained by Emma-Lee and David Browne at Cambridge and now with Cranbourne-based Kiwi trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young, is also nominated for Saturday’s Heatherlie.
