Leading Melbourne jockey Damien Oliver is looking forward to riding the unbeaten New Zealand three-year-old Highlad in the Listed UCI Stakes at Flemington on Sunday week.

The Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained three-year-old’s Gr.1 VRC Derby credentials will be tested in the 1800-metre event.

“Murray knows the right ones to bring over and he’s a nice staying type of horse,” said Oliver.

Highlad won first-up at Avondale and he then accounted for the previously undefeated Manhattan Street in the Listed Wanganui Guineas.
