New Zealand Group One performer Sacred Master is expected to make his Australian debut in the Listed Winter Challenge over 1500 metres at Rosehill on Saturday.

Placed in the Auckland Cup for trainer Cambridge trainer Tony Pike, the stayer has transferred to Chris Waller for his upcoming Sydney campaign aimed at the Gr. 1 The Metropolitan at Randwick on October 1.

“Once he gets up to 2000 metres and beyond we will see the best of him, but he needs to start somewhere,” Waller said.

“He’s had a barrier trial and he’s ready to go to the races.”
