Matagouri and Show The World produced good final work at Cambridge today
Because of yesterday’s heavy trials programme only a few horses galloped.
Working on a good plough, Matagouri (Jago) and Show the World (Legg) came to the end of 800m in 53.1, sprinting the last 600m in 38.9. Show the World, who makes his raceday debut at Tauranga on Saturday, has been working well in recent weeks and should give a good account of himself. Jack’s Run (Macfarlane) worked nicely in from the 1400m in 1:39, the final section clocked in 40.
Royal Tiger (Reid) and Hot and Pink (Hills) did well over 1000m, sprinting the concluding section in 37.2. Sakhee’s Soldier (Jago) did his Gate Pa chances no harm when working well alongside Elusive Gold (Legg) over 1000m in 1:7.7, finishing off in 38.
Sacred Star (Smith) left 1000m behind in 1:8.2, finishing off in 39. Usainity (Jago) and Lady Kipling (Legg) matched strides from the 1000m in 1:9, the final 600m in 39.2. Usanity begins a fresh campaign at Tauranga, but will need to overcome a wide barrier draw. Our Kingpin (Hayes) came to the end of 1200m in 1:20, the 600m in 38.1.
Working on the sand, Manny (Roustoby) sprinted 600m in 37.2. Ernie (Hughes) followed in 38.9. Alasandra (Douglas) was given a comfortable 600m in 42.4. And a Buffalo Man gelding (Ropiha) and an Electronic Zone gelding (Murray) left 800m behind in 52.7.
