Track Work – Thursday, 17 November 2011

Lady Kipling looked set for another winning run when galloping stylishly with stable mate Jeu de Cartes on a good plough at Cambridge today.  Counties Cup candidate Prairie Star also impressed.

Lady Kipling (S. Orting) and Jeu de Cartes (H Orting) were together throughout 1000m in 1:4.7, the last 600m in 36.9.  Both were going strongly at the finish. Lady Kipling, an unlucky runner at her most recent start, is in the open 1600m at the Counties fixture.  Prairie Star (Tiko) left no doubts about his fitness for the Pukekohe feature when working over 1400m in 1:27.8, finishing off in 36.3.

Mr Tipsy (Norvall), another Counties Cup contender, travelled sweetly alongside Veldt (German) over 1600m in 1:46.9 and 38.3.  Lemonade (Backstrom) was let off with a comfortable 1000m in 1:11, the concluding 600m in 41.   Swami (Roustoby), who races at Masterton, was clocked from the 600m in 38.6.   Handsome Mates (Hills), who is also an acceptor at Masterton, left 1200m behind in 1:18.6, the last 600m in 36.7.  Bob Veldez (Cropp) and Large as Life (Murray) were paired over 1000m in 1:5.3, coming home in 37.1.  Shirlinda (Bradley), who runs at Te Rapa on Sunday, and Nab the Moment (Vance) did well when completing 600m in 36.3.

Heat Seeking Rocket (Brown) and Desperaux (medium weight) were paired over 1000m in 1:7.4, the concluding 600m in 38.3.  Maryborough Lad (Roustoby) and Mr Rimfire (German) ran 600m in 37.6.   Party Cat (Robson) did well to return 1:3 for 1000m, the 600m in a fast 36.  Chivalry (Young) and Pint Size Punt (Saucede) sprinted 600m in 36.7.  Fletcher Baybe (Keoghan) was sent a comfortable 1000m in 1:14, the 600m in 44.  Ishma (Emma) and Winslet (Roustoby) ran 800m in 49.7.  Filina (McShane), Wairaka (Robson) and Yellow Rose (Dally) worked over 600m in 38.

Split Second (Dally) and Bellazeel (Holmes) were clocked from the 1000m in 1:4.7 and 37.4.

Floreat Days (McNab) came in from the 600m in 40.  Spring Tone (Norvall) ran 1000m at three-quarter pace, finishing off in 45.  Oxo (Davidson) covered 1600m in 1:42.4 and 41.7.   Kitten’s Lair (German) and Massive Night (Orting) came to the end of a smart 1000m in 1:3.4, the final 600m in 36.4.   And the High Chaparral-Funny Features gelding (Houston) returned 1:5.6 for 1000m, the last 600m in 40.
