Ellerslie aspirants Ginja Ninja and Best Command drew attention to their chances with strong gallops at Cambridge today
Galloping on a heavy No. 3 Grass, Ginja Ninja (Kim) was full of running at the completion of 800m, the final 600m in 38.3. Best Command (Ormsby) travelled sweetly throughout 1000m, finishing off in 39.6.
Cornelius (Foote) did his Ellerslie prospects no harm when covering 1000m in 1:7, the concluding 600m in 39.8.
Last start winner Bachelor Zeel (Ivil) and Miss Isle (Berg) finished on terms after 1000m, the last 600m in 39.9. Kelly O’Reilly (Smith) worked in nicely from the 600m in 42.2. Chipinta (Thornton) who looks a strong chance at Ellerslie, was let off with a comfortable workout, running the last 600m in 45. Zonza (Dalley) was timed from the 600m in 45.9. C’est Magnifique (Reid) was sent 1400m, the final 600m in 41.4.
Orbity (Alyshia), a likely favourite for the Fordell O’Leary Fillies Stakes at Wanganui this weekend, was given a comfortable 600m in 44.2. Aramore (Macfarlane) was clocked from the 600m in 42.9. Guns at Five (Hughes) returned 1:5.9 in a smart 1000m, coming home in 38.3.
Popeye Braggins (Marshall) did well over 1000m, the last 600m in 39.9.
