Track Work – Thursday, 9 February

Waikato Draught candidate Sangster turned in excellent work at Cambridge today.   Galloping on the outside of a good No 1 grass Sangster (Young) started from the 1000m behind stablemate My Brotha Bags (McNab) and finished slightly in front after returning 1:3.4, sprinting the 600m in 37.3.  

Six O’Clock News (Young), who will be attempting a hat trick of wins in Saturday’s Darci Brahma International, worked quietly from the 1000m and increased speed from the 600m in 37.2.

Working on a good plough last start winner Arcenciel (Seguin) was in fine form when covering a fast 800m in 47.5.   She should be most competitive in the Te Rapa WFA feature.  

Shezforeel (McAlpine) and Eastward (Hills) came to the end of 1000m in 1:6.8, the last 600m in 37.5.   Both look good chances in their weekend engagements.  The Terminator (Dally) did his Te Rapa chances no harm when covering 1400m in 1.36.7 finishing off in 38.4.   Full Of Spirit (McFarlane) left 1200m behind in 1.24.7 and home in 39.2.  La Vienne (Andrew) came in from the 1400m in 1.34.5 the final 1000m in 1.5.3.   Joy (McShayne) had an easy 1000m in 1.12.9 and 40.4.   Tale to Tell (Brown) came to the end of 800m in 52. 

Divine Spice (Shaw) and Floreat Days (McNab) were given an easy task over 1000m in 1:11.1, coming home in 42.   Gendarme (Tiko) ran 1200m in 1:18, the concluding 600m in 36.3.   He’s Remarkable (Andrew) and C’est Magnifique (Dally) matched strides from the 1000m in 1:4.5 and 37.  Queen of Pop (Orting) and Passalente (Belle) worked in from the 1000m in 1:6, dashing the last 600m in 35.6.   Shut Out (McShane) was not pushed when running 1000m in 1:12.9, the 600m in 43.  Splitsecond (Dally) returned 1:33.4 for 1400m, the last 1000m in 1:5.   Apin My World (Andrew) strode 1000m in 1:11.4, finishing off in 40.

Chetak (Marney) left 1200m behind in 1:23.4 and 39.6.   Insurgent (McShane) cut out 1000m in 1:5.2 and 37.8 for the 600m.   Taking the Mickey (Donoghue) sprinted 600m in 37.4.   Fast Love (Orting) and Blue Nile (Roustoby) were on terms over 1000m in 1:9 and 40.   Soldier’s Leap (McFarlane) completed 1200m in 1:22.2 the final 600m in 40.5.  Lady Kipling (Orting) was given an easy 1000m in 1:16 and 41.6.   Aspinal (Donoghue) was given a similar workout.    Imagine (McShane) and Wairaka (McFarlane) worked nicely together over 1400m in 1:31.8, sprinting the 600m in a fast 35.7.
