Trackwork – Thursday, 26 July

Torino was in good form when preparing for the Taumarunui meeting at Cambridge this morning. 

Galloping on the outside of a  heavy No.2 grass Torino (Harley) kept up a good clip alongside stablemate Burger (medium weight) over 1000m in 1:6.3, sprinting the final 600m in 39.5. Torino, who has raced with success in Australia, has been working well  in recent weeks.  

Moni Nui (Wendy) was given an easy gallop over 1000m, finishing off in 44.6. Swami (German) came to the end of a comfortable 1000m in 1:12, the 600m in 44.3. Last-start winner Nasrina (Karl) cut out 800m in 54.3.  She should be competitive again at Te Rapa this weekend. Governator (medium weight) was clocked from the 600m in 42.6. Mac Is Back (Cameron) strode 1000m in 1:14, sprinting the 600m in 39.9. Taking the Mickey (Donoghue) came to the end of 1000m in 1:12 and 40.7. Diamond Tiger Lily (Jago) returned 40.7 for 600m.

Working on a firm sand Captain Cat (Stanley) ran 1000m comfortably in 1:15, quickening over the last 600m in 40.  Big Rocket (German) and Neio (Orting) ran 800m together in 52.6. Poised (Macfarlane) and Perfection (Dally)  returned 1:8 for 1000m, the 600m in 40.3. Spin My World (Norvall) completed an easy 800m in 56.7. Catalan King (German) and a Shinko King gelding (Roustoby) sprinted 600m in 39 and Great of Favours (Orting) left 1000m behind in 1.11, the last 600m in 41.

 Multiple Group 1 performer Veyron (Norvall) ran 600m on the No.1 grass in 41. He is coming to hand well for a spring campaign.
