Track Work – Thursday, 1 December

Pellegrini and Say No More completed their preparations for Trentham in fine style at Cambridge today.   Galloping on a firm plough Pellegrini (German) ran 1000m in 1:5.4, covering the final 600m in 37.    He was travelling well throughout the gallop and should extend his impressive record this weekend.

Say No More (Robson) travelled nicely throughout 1000m in 1:6.5, the concluding section in 38.    She has thrived since her last-start close-up second at Tauranga.

Black Hennessy (Murray) and Large as Life (Hills), who are race rivals at Ellerslie on Saturday, matched strides from the 1000m in 1:4, sprinting the final 600m in 36.6. Both Chris Wood trained geldings should be most competitive.   Halogen (Armitt) looked fit for Trentham when completing 1200m in 1:22, coming home in 39.9.

He’s A Dandy Boy (Murray) and Bob Valdez (Hills) left 1000m behind in 1:4, the last 600m in 36.6. Party Cat (Robson) did her Ellerslie prospects no harm when coming in from the 1000m in 1:3.8 and 36.3.

Aspinal (Donoghue) ran 600m easily in 40.7 before increasing pace over the last 200m in 11.1.    AB O’Reilly (Hills) cut out 1000m in 1:3.7 and 36.2.   Despereaux (Brown) and Heat Seeking Rocket (medium weight) sprinted 600m in 36.2.  Spring Time (Andrew) was clocked from the 600m in 38.6.  Veldt (Houston), a favoured runner for Saturday’s Hospice North Shore 2200m at Ellerslie, worked over 1400m in 1:39.2, the concluding 600m in 39.6.

Rosita (McShane) ran the last 600m of 1000m in 39.2.  Silent Achiever (Dally) followed with similar work.  No Enemy (Sara) ran 600m in 38.6.   Brella Belle (Anna) dashed 600m in 35.1.   Lucky Majesty (Murray) came to the end of 800m in a fast 48.7.   Beautiful Crown (Ormsby) ran 600m in 41.6.  And Prairie Star (Tiko) ran 1000m on the No. 4 grass in 1:3.1, coming home in 37.
