Marton candidates and stablemates Chapinta and Brer rounded off their preparations with a smart workout at Cambridge this morning.    

Galloping 12 metres out on a heavy No.2 grass Chapinta (Thornton) and Brer (Carey) matched strides from the 1000m in 1:9, quickening over the last 600m in 39.9.  Both look strong chances this weekend.

Jeu de Cartes (Orting) looked ready to win a bold fresh up race in the Group 3 1600m at Marton when completing 1200m in 1:24.6, the last 600m in 40.4.  Stablemate and race rival Makadoo (Roustoby) left 1000m behind in 1:5.6 and 38.7.  Indecisive (Wenn) worked in nicely from the 800m in 54.  Savannah Rush (Brennan) left 600m behind in 39.1.

Working on the sand Veyron (Norvall), who is coming to hand well in a fresh campaign, was sent 800m in a comfortable 56.8.  Neio (Orting) and What Was That (Hutton) completed 1000m in 1:9, the last 600m in 39.9.  Swami (German) followed in 1:9.7 and 39.6.   Snave (Orting) came to the end of 1400m in 1:37, finishing off in 40.6.   Single Currency (Hughes) worked in from the 600m in 38.4.  Little Jack (Hughes) and Ruready (Gatu) worked a strong 800m in 50.6.  C’est Magnifique (Calder) hit out well over 600m in 41.  How Good Was That (Reid) and Duchess of Cambridge (Dally) were sent 600m in 39.9.  Lucky Spirit (Gatu) completed 1000m in 1:6, the concluding 600m in 37.2.   Galore (Calder), Honeymoon (Dally) and Groovy Baby (Collins) sprinted 600m in 40.7.

Best bet and track tip  –  Sacred Falls …smart colt who should make it a hat trick of wins.
