Serpent was impressive in his final preparation for Trentham when working on a good plough at Cambridge this morning

St Leger Stakes candidate Serpent (Holmquist), who is attempting a hat trick of wins, galloped sweetly from the 1200m in 1:17.7, sprinting the last 600m in 37.5. He was travelling strongly at the finish.

Double Parked (Collins), a debut winner who races at Te Rapa this weekend, looked fit when cruising 600m in 43.1. Bravado (Gatu), who should prove most competitive at Te Rapa this weekend, worked over 1200m in 1:26.4, finishing off in 39.1. Oak Park (Hutton) left 1000m behind in 1:7 the 600m in 37.8. Bella Zeal (Dalley) came to the end of 1400m in 1:41.5, the final 600m in 39.7. Carolina Island (German) and Her to Eternity (Hutton) were on terms throughout 1200m in 1:18.7, the last 600m in 38.8.

Cape Mapperley (Norvall) was given a comfortable 1000m at three quarter pace, quickening over the last 600m in 40. Heart of Darkness (Lars) was clocked from the 600m in 41.3. Popeye Braggins (Marshall) cut out 1000m in 1:5.6 and 37.4 for the concluding 600m.

Casino Park (Sharp) and Sand’ior (Hughes) were paired over a strong 1000m in 1:1.6, dashing the final 600m in 35.8. Hughes That Girl (Holloway) came in from the 600m in 42. Conchita (Young) worked well throughout 1200m in 1:25.9 and 40. Barbaric (Lars) was sent 600m in 40. RUReady (Walsh) and Bob Valdez (Gatu) worked over 800m in 51.8. Carrick (Ormsby) completed 1000m in 1:12.4 and 43. Taking the Mickey (Ormsby), preparing for a winter campaign, ran 600m in 39.9.
