Guns at Five completed his final work for Saturday’s NZ St Leger Stakes with an encouraging gallop on the plough at Cambridge today.  The going was good.

Guns at Five (Hills) left 1400m behind in 1:31.4, the concluding 600m in 37.2.   He is likely to be spelled following a consistent campaign after his race at Trentham this weekend.

Physicist (Jago) looked in good order for Te Rapa this weekend when timed from the 600m in 39.1.   Watch King (German), a consistent trials performer who debuts at Te Rapa this weekend completed 1000m with a One Cool Cat gelding (Brendon) in 1:4.2, sprinting the 600m in 36.6.  

Moirai (Mickey) was under a firm hold throughout 1000m in 1:9.6, the 600m in 38.8.   Eastward (Woods) looked fit for Te Rapa when sprinting 600m with Snagglepuss (Hills) in 36.5.

Wellfield New Zealand Oaks candidate Tilda (Browne) travelled sweetly alongside stable mate Tale to Tell (E Browne) over 600m in 37.2.  Worthing (Thornton) was timed from the 600m in 38.4.  Soldier’s Leap (Macfarlane), a main contender for the maiden 1400m at Te Rapa, was comfortable throughout 1000m in 1:9, coming home in 40.   Beyond All Doubt (Dally) worked in from the 600m in 38.  Mackadoo (Roustoby) left 1000m behind in 1:7, the 600m in 39.   Lucky Country (Holloway) and a Darci Brahma filly (Andrew) sprinted 600m in 38.4.

She’s Elusive (Hills) ran 600m in 37.2.   Insurgent (Dally) came to the end of 1400m in 1:38.5, the 600m in 38.9.   Beejay Belle (Roustoby) cut out 1000m in 1:6.4 and 37.2.   Le Monsieur (Macfarlane) and Joy (Dally) galloped impressively from the 1200m in 1:17.6 and 36.6.  Fellina (Jacob) and Mistrim (Norvall) completed 1000m in 1:8, the 600m in 38.  O’Right Zen (McNab) returned 39 for 600m and Full of Spirit (Macfarlane) strode 1400m in 1:37.8, the last 600m in 40.  

Best bet and track tip   -   Soldier’s Leap   -   Good run after slow beginning most recent start.
