Track Work – Thursday, 18 July 2013

Top galloper Dundeel, in the hands of regular rider James McDonald, attracted much interest in his workout at Cambridge today.

Working on a slow No.4 Grass Dundeel had Orion (Murphy) for a partner over 600m in 39.7.   Both were travelling easily throughout.   Dundeel looks in great order for his upcoming spring campaign, which is pencilled in for the Makybe Diva Stakes, over 1600m at Flemington in early September.

Gallloping on the No.2 Grass with the markers out 18m, Bob Valdez (Gatu), an unlucky second at his last start, looked fit for Ruakaka when completing 1200m in 1:22, the last 600m in 41.   Ginga Ninja (Foote), who will attempt a hat-trick of victories at New Plymouth this weekend, was given a comfortable workout over 600m in 43.1.  Atlantee (McDonald) and Orbity (Hutton) matched strides from the 600m in 39.3.   Brompton (Cameron), who looks in good order for racing at New Plymouth, came to the end of 1000m in 1:9.2, finishing off in 41.

Escobar (Forbes) worked in easily from the 1000m in 1:15, the concluding 600m in 44.7.   Demarco (Texairn) strode comfortably from the 1000m in 1:16, the 600m in 43.7.   Nancy Lee (Cropp) worked well over 1000m in 1:9.6, coming home in 40.2.   Keepit (German) came to the end of 1200m in 1:24, the 1000m in 1:9 and the last 600m in 39.3.
