Waipa candidates He’s A Joker and Over The Moon showed spark in their final hit-out at Cambridge today.

Galloping on a good plough He’s A Joker (Carter) shaded Over The Moon (Norvall) after dashing 600m in 34.6. He’s A Joker did well when running fourth at his last start after being slow early and then being forced over extra ground. Over The Moon ran a nice race second up after a spell. Both Carter trained horses look in first-class order.

Xpress (German) looked fit for racing at Te Awamutu on Saturday when completing 1200m in 1:19.6 with stable mate Veldt (Roustoby), the last 600m in 38.1. Gendarme (Tiko) and Barney (Cunneen) matched strides over a smart 1000m in 1:3 and 36.6. Eye For Fashion (Orting) completed 1000m in 1:3.2, dashing the 600m in 35.5.
Six O’Clock News (Young), preparing for the New Zealand Cup at Riccarton, was paired with Bindi (Saucede) over 1600m in 1.44.5, coming home in 38.2.

Oak Park (Orting) and Watch King (Houston) completed 1400m in 1:32.4, the 600m in 38.6. C’est Magnifique (Andrew) worked in from the 1200m in 1:19.5, the 1000m in 1:4.7 and the 600m in 37.9.
Swami (Norvall) sprinted 600m in 36. Miss Isle (Waddell) strode 1400m in 1:38, the 1200m in 1:21 and the last 600m in 38.2. Handsome Mates (Robson) did well to run 1000m in 1:4.3, coming home in 36.5.

Forever Joyful (Cameron) ran the last 600m of 1000m in 37.1. Tivoli (Keoghan) and a Thorn Park gelding (Woods) matched strides from the 600m in 41.2. Shirlinda (medium weight) came to the end of 600m in 42.7. Mariner (Zonka) was given an easy task when completing 600m in 44. Geisha (Zonka) was given a similar task. Dehere and There (Robson) finished off with 600m in 45. The Savabeel-Justine Coup gelding (Ormsby) from the Pike-Donoghue stable sprinted 600m in 37.1.
