Track Work – Thursday, 31 May 2012

Ellerslie candidates Mackadoo and Chill Bill worked nicely together on a heavy No.3 grass at Cambridge today.

Fog prevented the timing of several gallops.

Last start winner Mackadoo (Orting) and Chill Bill (Roustoby) matched strides from the 800m in 52.4. Both were under good holds at the finish. Mackadoo looks a leading prospect for the Rating 85 1600m at Ellerslie, but Chill Bill faces a tough assignment with top weight and an outside barrier draw.

Blue Nile (German), who backs up after an impressive win last weekend, was clocked from the 600m in 40.4. Old Drumble (Macfarlane) and Son of Zoff (Cropp) worked nicely from the 1000m in 1:9, coming home in 37. Dan’s Best (Laing) completed 600m in 41.2.

Platinum Passion (medium weight) came to the end of 600m in 40. Monkey Rock (Jago) followed with a comfortable 600m in 43. Catchitifyoucan (Moki) left 1200m behind in 1:24, finishing off in 40. Old Gold (medium weight) looked fit for upcoming engagements when timed from the 600m in 39.7.

Enjoyit (Forbes) ran 600m nicely in 38.4. Whistle (Cameron) came to the end of 600m in 39. Swami (Orting) and La Nuage (Roustoby) came to the end of 800m in 53.7. St Challen (Stam) was not pushed when returning 42 for 600m.

Galloping on the sand Winsome Hawk (Orting) and I For Fashion (German) were paired over 1000m in a comfortable 1:8.8 and 40 for the last 600m. Perfect Tea and Bachelor Real, both medium weighted, ran 600m in 40.1.

Ellerslie – track tip – Snow Excuse …better off for two runs this preparation.

Outsider – Platinum Passion.
