Orbity looked set to notch a hat-trick of wins at Te Awamutu on Saturday when handling heavy track conditions well in training at Cambridge this morning
Galloping on the outside of the No.2 Grass Orbity (Murphy) completed 600m stylishly in 39.1.
Keeper Crossed, (Sharpe), a form runner in the John F Grylls Memorial Handicap at Te Awamutu, was in good form over 1200m in 1:24.2, the 600m in 41.2. A L’Orange (Gately) enhanced his chances for Waipa, with an encouraging 600m in 39.1. Le Couguar (Barkla) came to the end of 600m in 40.3. High Roller (Cropp) and Old Drumble (Macfarlane) travelled nicely together from the 1200m in 1:24.9, finishing off in 40. Brompton (Satherley) was sent 1600m, the last 1400m in 1:40.4, the concluding section in 42.9. Excite (Texairn) and Bellbird (Smith) were paired over 1000m in 1:7.1 and 40.8. Taking the Mickey (Donoghue) cut out 1000m in 1:7, finishing off in 40.8.
Working on the sand, Chill Bill (Davidson) galloped 1200m in 1:25.4, the concluding 600m in 40.
