He’s Remarkable looked at peak fitness for his Spring Classic engagement at Hastings on Saturday when working comfortably on a soft No.1 grass at Cambridge today

He’s Remarkable (Dalley) was restrained over 1000m in 1:14.2, the last 600m in 43.1.

Galloping on the plough Pellegrini (German), another leading Hawke’s Bay aspirant, followed up excellent Tuesday work with 600m in 38.4 after starting easily at the 1000m. Ruready (Gatu) impressed over 1000m in 1:6, sprinting the last 600m in 36.6. Delacroix (Dally), No Second Prize (Chipperfield) and Brandy Star (Calder) left 1000m behind in 1:10, the concluding 600m in 39.

Eastwood (Hughes) and Bravado (Gatu) matched strides from the 1000m in 1:10.3, quickening over the last 600m in 36.4. Zealander (Calder) and Duchessofcambridge (Macfarlane) left 1000m behind in 1:6.2 and 37.4. Genis (Orting) and Passalente (Hutton) were clocked from the 600m in 37.3. A Keeper gelding (Brennan) followed over 600m in 37.9.

Working on a good sand Macorla (Roustoby) and Drucilla (Hutton) came in from the 600m in 38.2. Watch King (Orting) covered 800m in 54. Big Rocket (German) completed 1000m in 1:7.7 and 39.6.

Barney (Tiko) and Fade to Black (Cuneen) worked on the No.2 grass over 1000m in a fast 1:1.9, dashing the final 600m in 35.
