Track Work – Thursday, 6 June 2013


Civics Rock handled the heavy track conditions well at Cambridge today when preparing for Trentham this weekend 

Working on the outside of the No.2 Grass, Civics Rock (Harris) maintained a good pace throughout 1000m in 1:6.9, sprinting the final 600m in 37.8.   He looks set to extend trainer Ralph Manning’s good recent record on Saturday.  

Popeye Braggins (Marshall), who is in a consistent vein of form, galloped well throughout 600m in 39.9.   Antonine (Hughes) looked in good order when covering 600m in 39.6.    Marguerita Time (Gatu) left 1200m behind in 1:23.6, sprinting the concluding 600m in 38.8.    Honeymoon (McGorrian) and Packing Express (Reid) impressed when running 1:18.9 from the 1200m, the last 600m in 37.9.   Oak Park (Hutton), who should run well at Te Rapa this weekend, sprinted 400m in 27.   Last start winner Orbity (Orting) was sent 600m with an Elusive City gelding (Brennan) in 41.1.  

Hug A Ginga (Satherley) was clocked from the 600m in 42.4.   A Justice Prevails gelding (Norvall) hit out comfortably from the 600m in 46.   Full Count (Reid), Late Decision (medium weight) and Pappa Ragazzo (McGorrian) left 1000m behind in 1:9.9 and 40.7.     

Working on the sand What Was That (German) looked at peak fitness when covering 1000m in 1:5.6m finishing off in 40.1.    Fairytale Romance (Collins) and Gem (Hinton) were let off with a comfortable 1000m in 1:15, the last 600m in 42.
