Track Work – Thursday, 7 June 2012

Charlie’s Angel completed her preparation for Te Rapa in fine style at Cambridge this morning.

Galloping 10 metres out on a heavy No.3 grass Charlie’s Angel (Cleland) followed up impressive Tuesday work with another nice gallop, coming in from the 600m in 39.2. She ran the race of an improver at her most recent start and has thrived in the interim.

Pump up the Volume (Macfarlane) did well to complete the final 600m of his work in 39.2. Dan’s Best (Norvall) was clocked from the 600m in 39.9. Popeye Braggins (Collett) and Penny Whistle (Donoghue) were paired over 800m, the final 600m in 41.1.

Alt Control (Ivil) looked fit for Te Rapa when covering 1200m in 1:26, the concluding 600m in 40.4. Queen of Rock (medium weight) worked in nicely from the 600m in 39.5. Princess Guru (Stanaway) left 600m behind in 42. Inzabar (Donoghue) came to the end of 600m n 40.6.

Galloping on a firm sand Empathy (Hills) and Master Power (Gatu) were paired over 1000m, the last 600m in 41. Eddie the Eagle (Macfarlane) and Artemis (Calder) hit out nicely over 600m in 38.8. Holy Moly (Macfarlane) left 1200m behind at three quarter pace, quickening over the last 600m in 40. The Tidy Express (Calder), an unlucky third fresh up, was given a comfortable 600m in 41.4. Indian Sky (Armitt) finished off her work with 600m in 40.6. Hurricane Mickey (Emma) and Thorndyke (German) worked well together over 1000m, the concluding 600m in 39.

Te Rapa track tip and best bet – Northern General – excellent gallop Tuesday – value bet.

Outsider – Little Alfie Brown.
