Track Work – Thursday, 7th March 2013

Ruud Awakening returned an encouraging workout at Cambridge on Wednesday morning

Galloping on a good No.1 Grass Ruud Awakening (Cribbin) was sent 1000m, sprinting the final 600m in 38. She has pleased her trainer Stephen Marsh
since her win in the Karaka Millions and looks like extending her impressive record at Ellerslie this weekend.

Jack’s Run, Wairaka and Beyond All Doubt galloped freely on a good plough on Thursday. Fog prevented the timing of most gallops.

Jack’s Run (Macfarlane), Wairaka (Jonty) and Beyond All Doubt (Dalley) worked in from the 1000m in 1:5.4, sprinting the concluding 600m in 37. Twilight Granita (Hutton) came in from the 600m in 38.8. Cheval Royale (Norvall), Brandy Belle (McGorrian) and Allure (Cropp) left 1200m behind in 1:20.1, the last 600m in 38.3. De La Croix (Dalley), Groovy Baby (Cropp) and Luxury Liz (McGorrian) came to the end of 1200m in 1:17.4 and 37.5. Monteith (Brooks) and Nosecondprize (Macfarlane) worked well together from the 1200m in 1:18, coming home in 37.6. Misstrum (Norvall) ran 600m in 38.1.
