Track Work – Thursday, 9 May 2013

Neo enhanced his chances for Rotorua on Saturday when working with stablemate Twilight Granita on a heavy track at Cambridge today

Galloping on a heavy No.2 grass Neo (Burgess) and Twilight Granita (Holmquist) were on terms throughout 1200m in 1:18.2, sprinting the final 600m in 37.2. Both were travelling strongly throughout.

Kodema (Roustoby), who looks fit to begin a fresh campaign at Rotorua, worked nicely alongside stablemate Big Rocket (Hutton) from the 1000m in 1:6, the last 600m in 38.1. Rotorua Cup aspirant Sum Up (Gillies) sounded a warning to his rivals with a stylish 1200m in 1:22.7 under a strong hold, the last 600m in 40.1. He will have the services of Opie Bosson this weekend.

Elusive Gold (Martin) and Oak Park (Burgess) did their weekend prospects no harm with a solid 1000m in 1:4, finishing off in 36.9. Airtime (Young), an unlucky runner last time out, worked nicely alongside Hollywood Angel (Kuru) over 1000m in 1:5.9, coming home in 37.4. Keepercrossed (Forbes) looked fit for Gate Pa when covering 1400m in 1:36.8, the 1000m in 1:5.1 and the concluding 600m in 39.4.

Chapinta (Thornton), who starts a winter campaign this weekend at Rotorua was let off with a comfortable 600m in 44.9. Call Me Maybe (Holmes) ran the last 600m of 800m in 40.5. Monkey Rock (Stam) and Conchita (Young) were paired over 1000m in 1:7.3 and 39.
