Track Work – Tuesday, 13 December

Jeu de Cartes, preparing for Saturday’s Group 3 Manawatu Cup, hit out nicely on the outside of a good No.1 grass at Cambridge today.

 Jeu de Cartes (Houston) travelled sweetly from the 1400m in 1:37.8, the last 800m in 53 and the final 600m in 40.  She has thrived since her impressive last start win at Ellerslie.

 Twilight Savings (German) and Precision King (Orting) came to the end of 1000m in 1:4.1, sprinting the last 600m in 37 both were full of running at the finish. 

 Because of several local gallopers being in today’s Cambridge trials the number of gallops was restricted.

 Lemonade (Backstrom), who has been racing well recently, came in from the 1000m in 1:4.1, sprinting the last 600m in 37.  Lemonade worked attractively on a good No.4 grass.    

Stablemates Recession Proof (Shaw), The Original (McNab) and Diamond Duke (McQuarters) from the in form Stephen Marsh barn, hit the line together after 1000m in 1:4 and 37.3.    Told You So (Armitt) and Simply Irresistible (Croon) matched strides from the 1000m in 1:3.9, finishing off with 600m in 37.2.   Star of Show (Hayley) held an advantage over Hollywood Angel (Thornton) at the completion of 600m in 41.6.   Eye For Fashion (Emma) and a Golan gelding (Orting) ran 600m in 40.3.  Miss Isle (Barnes) and Grande Bellizza (Berg) did well to complete 1000m in 1:4.7, sprinting the last 600m in a smart 36.9.     

 Veronica Franco (Andrew) left 1000m behind in 1:6.3, the concluding 600m in 38.9.  Exquisite Choice (Dally) followed with similar work, coming home in 39.2.   Hoxo (Thornton) and Great Sky (Forbes) returned 1:6 for 1000m, the last 600m in 38.1.  Melrose (Donoghue) was let off with a comfortable 1000m in 1:11, the last 600m in 42.9.  Anna Marea (Norvall) was clocked from the 800m in 52.  Super Belt (Frank) ran 1000m in 1:6.4, the 600m in 39.
