Karaka Magic Millions winner Ockham’s Razor gave a good display in training today in preparation for Saturday’s Group 3 Waikato Stud Two Year Old Classic at New Plymouth. 

Galloping on the outside of a good No.1 grass Ockham’s Razor, ridden by caretaker trainer William Stewart, maintained a solid clip over 800m in 48.8 and sprinting the  last 600m in 35.  Lady Kipling (German) looked fit for Ellerslie this weekend when working over 1000m with stable mate Vaayala (Orting) in 1:4.2, completing the final 600m in 35.9.

Working on a good plough Silent Achiever (Andew) was sent 1400m in 1:32.9 she was joined by stable mate Insurgent (McShane) from the 1000m, running the last 600m in 35.3.   Matilda (Browne) and Speedy Rocket (McVean) matched strides from the 1200m in 1:18.4, coming home in 36.   Worthing (Cameron) left 1200m behind in 1:17.8 and home in 36.9.  Joy (Andrew) was timed from the 1000m in 1:8.7 the last 600m in 39.3.   Salander (McShane) and Duchessofcambridge (Dally) ran an easy 600m in 46.4. Kaapdiva (McNab) and Island Star (Shaw) were clocked from the 1000m in 1:8.1, home in 38:4.   Go Lucky(Kayla) ran an easy 600m in 41.1.  Fast Love (German) and Winslet (Orting) came to the end of 1200m in 1.17.3 finishing off in 37.

C’Est  Magnifique (Andrew) came to the end of 1000m in 1:8.3 and 38.5.  Soldier’s Leap (Macfarlane) and Left of Centre (Dally) worked in from the 1000m in 1:8.7, the last 600m in 39.   Darci Divine (Young) and Colorado Sun (Holmes) worked pleasingly together from the 1200m in 1:19, sprinting the 600m in 36.  Aspinal (Donoghue) followed with 1000m in 1:9.9 and 36.1.   

Virgin Island (German) was timed from the 1200m in 1:19.2, coming home in 36.1.   Butcher’s Daughter (Ivil) worked nicely throughout 1000m in 1:6.1, the final section in 36.9.   The Diamond Duke (Harris), Recession Proof (Shaw) and Chetak (McNab) worked well together over 1400m in 1:31.5, the last 600m in 36.8.   Chetak held a slight advantage at the finish.   

In form Guns at Five (Hills) looked fit for weekend racing  when completing 1600m in 1:47.5, the 1200m in 1:18.2 and the last 600m in 36.6.   He’s Remarkable (Andrew) was well held over 600m in 37.5.   Boomchukalaka (McShane) was clocked from the 1000m in 1:9.7 and 40.3.    No Enemy (Berg) came in from the 1000m in 1:7.4 and 38.6.   San D’Or (Woods) was given a comfortable 1000m in 1:10 and 41.2.   Marvon Downs (Cameron) and Mi Karamea (Armitt) ran a solid 1000m in 1:2.9 and 36.4.

Working on a firm sand Holy Moly (Macfarlane) sprinted an easy 800m in 56.6 and Almon (Young) and Oakleigh (medium weight) left 1000m in 1:7.5, the 600m in 38.6.
