Sangster and El Roca again starred in training at Cambridge today

Galloping on the outside of a heavy No.1 Grass Sangster (Young) and El Roca (McNab) finished on terms at the end of a smart 1000m in 1:3.9 sprinting the final 600m in 38.5.   Sangster has improved as a result of his recent bold race in the Foxbridge Plate.   He is to contest the Makfi Challenge Stakes at Hastings on Saturday.   El Roca, an impressive debut winner, is pencilled in for the three-year-old handicap at the same meeting. 

Thunderbird One (Brookes) worked nicely alongside Beguile (Browne) over 1000m in 1:5.9, the final section in 39.9.   Thunderbird One is an acceptor for the Makfi Stakes but needs scratchings to gain entry to the field.

Working on the No.2 Grass, Best Command (Smith) was in good form over 800m in 52.3.   Our Kingpin (Fraser-Hayes) returned 51.7 in a smartly run 800m.   Atlante (Orash) followed with 600m in 41.7.   Posy (Ormsby) worked in from the 600m in 43.2.   Marmi (Cameron) left 1000m behind in 1:6.2, finishing off in 38.7.  Kelly O’Reilly (Smith) completed an easy 600m in 44.3.    Four Diamonds (Tiko) and Von Crumb (Stam) strode in comfortably from the 1000m in 1:11, coming home in 40.1.

Galloping on the sand, Makfi candidate Rollout The Carpet (Browne), who looks in first class order, cruised 1,000m in 1:15, coming home in 42.2.   Shadow Ray (Browne) and Kashmir (Reid) were timed from the 600m in 43.3.  Decorah (Orash) and Astardia (Browne) ran 800m in 53.7.   Zabanella (E Browne) and Tilda (D Browne) cut out 1,000m in 1:7.7 and 39.2.  And Rebound (Hughes) was not extended over 800m in 58.
