Track Work – Tuesday, 8th April

Lady Cumquat looks to have confirmed a trip to Sydney this week with exceptional work at Cambridge today

Galloping on the outside of a good No.1 Grass, Lady Cumquat (Hills) shaded Zonza (macfarlane) at the completion of 1400m in 1:31.4, sprinting the final 600m in 37.  Trainer, Roger James, was thrilled with her work and said that as long as she came through the gallop well she will run in Saturday’s 2000m Adrian Knox Stakes.

Orbity (Jago) and Neo (Orting) maintained a good clip from the 1000m in 1:6.1, sprinting the last 600m in 37.5.  Ruud Awakening (McNab), who trials at Cambridge on Thursday, looked in good order when working 800m with stablemate Far Enough (Harris), the concluding 600m in 37.3. 

Kelly O’Reilly (Donoghue) and Demarco (Teixeira) impressed when sprinting 600m in 36.  Atacama (Bates) and Footsie (Waddell) matched strides from the 600m in 37.5.

Galloping on the sand, where fog interrupted the timing of gallops, Lady Saiyeda (Hills) cut out 1000m in 1:8.  Florida (Orting) and Roctober (Anderton) were timed from the 800m in 53.3.  Heart of Darkness (McQuarters) left the last 600m of work behind in 38.7.

Hollywood Lad (Hills) and Kaaps Joy (Norvall) left 1000m behind in 1:8.2, the last 800m in 52.  Excite (McQuarters) ran the last 600m in 41.2.   Not Afraid (Cafferty) and Winstone (McNab) were on terms after running 1000m, the last 600m in 39.1.  Misstar (Satherley) and Yaldara (Jago) completed 1000m in 1:8.9, coming home in 41.

What A Diva (McNab) and an Ifraaj filly (Itchi) sprinted 600m in 39.6.  Alicudi (Ropiha) followed with similar work.  Assertive (Harris) was sent a comfortable 1200m, coming home in 40.8.  Crunchie (Ropiha) and a Master Craftsman gelding (Itchi) were paired over 800m in 53.
