Track Work – Thursday, 6 June 2019

Birdsong and Darcee Que, two of four 2yos from the leading Baker/Forsman stable set to debut at Te Rapa this weekend, rounded off their preparation in fine style this morning.

Working 12m out on a heavy No2 grass Birdsong and Darcee Que galloped well together from the 800m sprinting the final 600m in 38.2. Stable mates and race rivals, Marroni and Not Usual Litening looked fit when completing the last 600m of their work in 39.6. All four should be competitive but Birdsong looks the best winning chance for me.

Yatima, who has been in solid form recently, followed good Tuesday work with another nice gallop over 1000m running the last 600m under a hold in 40.5. New York Minute left 800m behind in 54 with the last 600m in 40.2. She is at very short odds in the open 1200m at Trentham but her recent work suggests she will be extremely hard to beat.

Last start winner Elle Eye Are came in from the 600m in 40.3. She steps up to 2200m at Te Rapa this weekend. Crafty Jess enhanced her Te Rapa prospects with lovely work over 1000m clocked in 1:8.3 finishing off in 38.6 Manhattan Flame and Malibu Flame were together at the finish of their gallop running the final 600m in 38.3.

Blue Eyed Suzy was timed from the 600m in 39.2. Triple Treat came to the end of 1200m in an easy 1:28 home in 43.9. Rage In The Castle ran 600m in 42. Mamba and Bo Jeu were timed from the 800m in 54.2. Power Dream looked fit for Te Rapa when timed from the 600m in 40.5. Baltesta followed with similar work.

Kanzac ran 1000m in 1:9.2 and 40. Eradani and Southern Quest matched strides from the 800m in 55.6.
