Track Work 10 October 2019

Inclement weather looms as the main danger to QUEEN OF DIAMONDS starting her fresh campaign on a winning note at Hawera this weekend.

Working on a slow No. 4 grass, QUEEN OF DIAMONDS had stable mate and race rival for Saturday’s Rich Hill Stud Taranaki Breeders Stakes NICOLETTA for company over an easy 1200m, the 1000m run in 1:11.2 and the 600m in 40.1.

Both have been working well over recent weeks. QUEEN OF DIAMONDS looks in outstanding order and with recent trials under her belt, is set to produce a bold run.

HINERANGI and VIN DE DANCE, who take on a handy field in Saturday’s Team Wealleans Matamata Cup, were on terms over a smart 1000m in 1:3.6, the final 600m in 37.4. HINERANGI looked to have the better of her stablemate at the line.

SAINT EMILION worked well from the 1200m in 1:25, increasing pace from the 600m clocked in 38. Galloping on the No. 2 grass (slow) impressive debut winner TRAVELLING LIGHT looked to have improved with that run when well held over 1000m with stablemate THE ANARCHIST, completing the last 600m in 41.4.

She steps up in grade in the Matamata Veterinary Services Ltd 1400m for three year olds this weekend, and will be worth consideration at nice each way odds.

DECADENCE looked in great order for Matamata’s Luminateone 1400, when stretching out nicely over 1000m in 1:6.2, home in 38.3. PACORUS, who has hit peak form, left 1200m behind in 1:21.1, the concluding 600m in 37.4.

VIGOR WINNER maintained a solid clip from the 1000m in 1:1.1, sprinting home in 36.4. WOODEN EDGE came to the end of 1000m in 1:6.5 and 38.6. RUN TO PERFECTION did well over 1000m in 1:2.6 and 36.6.

RUSAVY followed nice Tuesday work with a comfortable 800m in 53.5. ANNA CECELIA was timed from the 800m in 50.7. SWORD OF FREEDOM followed with 800m in 51.5.

On the No.1 grass, CONCERT HALL, another local with strong Team Wealleans Matamata Cup prospects, was let off with an easy 1000m in 1:10.2 and 40.4.
