Track Work 17 October 2019

LADY LIRA showed she is ready to produce her best form at Rotorua this weekend, during a quiet gallop session this morning.

Working on a slow No. 2 grass, with the markers close to the inside, LADY LIRA was full of running at the completion of 1000m, run in 1:7.1, sprinting the last 600m in 38. She needed her resuming run and has improved in the interim. She has the advantage of a handy draw and a previous victory on the track.

RITANI looked fit for Rotorua when sent 1000m, cut out in 1:10, quickening over the final 600m in 38.1.

PACORUS was let off with a comfortable 1000m in 1:15.1, finishing off in 44.3. He is in great order and could be one for odds at Rotorua where he has won before.

INTRIGUE and LOIRE finished together at the end of 1000m, the last 600m in 37.7. TRUE ENOUGH was clocked from the 600m in 38.7.

ARETHA and HINERANGI returned the fastest gallop of the morning when timed over 1200m in a smart 1:16.5, dashing home in 36.4.

SACRED DAY came to the end of 800m in 53. CHARM SPIRIT|SO ROYAL and PERSISTENCE came in from the 600m in 39.2.

CHIARETTA is one to follow over the coming months. She was kept under a nice hold throughout her work, running her final 600m in 41.3.

Galloping on the No. 1 grass, DAWN PATROL produced encouraging work when timed from the 600m in 36.7. He should be hard to beat at Rotorua.

On the No.4 grass, ZACADA maintained a good pace from the 1200m in 1:18.1, with the last 600m run in 38.9. He is due to run in Saturday’s Staphanos Classic at Rotorua. He has won twice from three starts on the track and could surprise at long odds.

VIN DE DANCE strode 1200m in 1:22.5, finishing off in 39.8.
