Track Work 17 September 2020

SUFFUSED sounded a warning to his El Roca – Sir Colin Meads Trophy rivals with excellent work this morning.

Galloping on a slow No. 4 grass SUFFUSED edged out stable mate BONITA AURELIA at the finish of 1000m in 1:7.1, sprinting the final 600m in 38.  Both are in good order.

SUFFUSED did it all wrong at his most recent start, but was an impressive winner on debut.

BONITA AURELIA will join her stable mate on the trip to Hastings and will race in the Group 3 Hawke’s Bay Breeders Gold Trail Stakes.

BABYLON BERLIN, who will run favourite in the Hawke’s Bay Breeders Gold Trail Stakes after a convincing debut win, was not after time when sent 800m, the last 600m in 42.1.  She looks a classy filly and a victory would not surprise.

SWEET ANNA, another local entered in the strong Hawke’s Bay Breeders Gold Trail Stakes field, returned 40.1 from the 600m.  She should also be amongst it at the business end.

Galloping on a slow No. 2 grass with the markers out wide, CYBER ATTACK was in good form over 1000m in 1:6.4, sprinting home in 37.1.  He has run three good races this campaign and looks at peak fitness for Hastings.

VIKING and MAKZABEEL, who are race rivals at Hastings, hit the finish together at the end of a solid 1000m, run in 1:4.3, the last 600m in 37.8.

TUPPENCE strode 1000m in 1:10.1 and 40.4.  MASTER KHAN was timed 600m in 37.2.

EMBER ATTACK and UNDER THE PUMP returned the fastest 1000m of the morning in 1:3.1, dashing home in 36.3.  JACK THE LASS did his Ruakaka chances no harm with nice work over 1000m in 1:5.3 and 37.1.

On the sand, RED BEACH AND SHOWBEEL were in good form over 1000m in 1:8.2, home in 39.1.

SHENANIGANS worked in from the 600m in 42.  TELEKINETIC, OUR MODENA and SPECIAL INTEREST ran 600m in 40.

RHAEGAR left 800m behind in 54, the final 600m in 39.1.

MADAM HASS ran the last 600m of 800m in 37.6.  PLUCKY MISS AND DIIONYSUS cut out 800m in 54.
